Finishing Touches

Today we are working a half day at each site. The house is almost done and will be dedicated next Wednesday. You would be amazed to see Nan, Elaine, Julia, Linda or Dayna wield a power tool. Mark helped install a 400 lb door for the safe room which is now code in all habitat houses. Lou built an awesome handrail going up the front steps! The camp has really changed! Pete, Marv, and Sam did a great job of constructing and putting together 10 very solid bunk beds. Ed installed a beautiful ceiling in the new kitchen. Hannah, Cindy and Miriam transformed the men's and women's bathrooms! Norm is a professional window installer! These are just a few of the skills we picked up this week. Not glamour jobs, but very fulfilling! This afternoon Kellie Hoyt is going to take us on a tour of the University of Alabama and then we will go out for dinner to celebrate our time together. The Lord has blessed us this week in so many ways. We have grown to know and care for each other, we have helped a family own a new home, and we have improved a camp which will house Habitat volunteers for years to come. We have felt the love, prayers and interest of the congregation. We are grateful for this support. We can hardly wait to tell you more about our adventure! We would love to have you join us on our next trip!! Micki
